BEHAVIOUR
Towards Each Other.
We all play the game, we all pay our money, we all enjoy it for different reasons and we expect Boogie Knights to respect this. This guild is a mix of attitudes towards the game and no single approach is right or wrong. If you think otherwise then look elsewhere.
Whilst bad language is accepted in guild chat, excessive bad language isn’t necessary and will be frowned upon, leading eventually to a warning. We will not tolerate bad or negative language aimed directly at other guild members however. Anybody insulting other members directly or insulting them indirectly to others is not acceptable. If you have a problem with someone, take it up with them privately and politely. If you can’t do that, bring it to the attention of a guild leader. If you don’t want to do that either, then your only option is to live with the problem and let it go.
Similarly, if somebody approaches you with a criticism of your behaviour or attitude, you should be prepared to hear them out fairly and take on board what they are saying.
We must remember that we have people from different countries in the guild where English is not always the first language. Although language barriers shouldn't really be a problem (we are, after all, on an English speaking server) we should consider this when differences of opinion occur.
Within the guild and to each other, we don’t sell items or services for profit. If you can offer your help to someone you’re encouraged to do so for free. Of course, there are limits – we don’t expect you to just give stuff away. If someone wants something crafted, it’s reasonable to ask them to provide the materials, it’s not reasonable to then charge them for your services on top.
General
Whilst in the guild, you represent the guild and everyone in it and as such, we expect you to conduct yourselves appropriately when playing with other groups or guilds or when talking in open channels. Whilst not the most advanced in terms of progress we do have a good reputation on Hellfire as being a friendly and dependable lot and we expect that tradition to be upheld.
We will NOT tolerate racism, sexism or discrimination in any form from any member of the guild. Any breaking of this rule is grounds for immediate removal from the guild. We will shoot first and ask questions later – do not be mistaken, this is taken very seriously.
Spamming the guild chat is not acceptable behaviour. There’s enough spam on general and trade already and we don’t want to add to it.
If you are in this guild it's because you want to be. If you're not happy and are thinking of leaving then talk to a leader or officer and we'll see if we can help to put right whatever is causing the problem. If we can't then we won't stand in anyone's way but at least give us the opportunity to try first.
Anybody found applying to other guilds without having said so first will be removed from the guild. If you don't want to be with us, we don't want you with us. Nobody is forced to stay but we do expect our members to at least want to be in the guild.
Similarly, if you leave the guild without explanation or warning, do not expect to find your alts still in the guild and do not expect to be welcomed back with open arms. We will consider anybody who wants to return after they have left but we'll be a lot happier to welcome people back if they left on good terms (or at least left having calmly explained why they left before it happened).
RANKS
The guild ranks are :
Guild Leader
Boogie Chief
Boogie Officer
Boogie Commando
Boogie Veteran
Boogie Knight
Boogie Squire
Boogie Trial
The Stocks
All new members will automatically be placed into Boogie Trial for a short period until they have proven themselves reliable. At that time, they will be promoted to Boogie Squire. After that, promotion will come in time with activity, helpfulness, decent forum use, raid attendance, worthwhile input to guild chat or any combination of that lot. Asking to be promoted is just annoying and will leave you less likely to be promoted. Be patient, it will come in time.
The stocks is a rank that hopefully will seldom be used - if you have been bad in some way, you'll be moved there perhaps for just a few minutes, perhaps for a few days, depending on what happened to put you there. People at this rank can read but cannot write in the guild chat.
NEW MEMBERS & ALTS
The guild has a minimum age requirement of 18 to join. The chat can become fairly mature at times and we don't see it as responsible to have people younger than 18 in the guild for this reason.
All new characters joining the guild must be level 75 or higher. Anybody joining to raid however must be level 80. Exisiting members, once out of their trial period can invite alts from level 20 onwards although DeathKnight alts must be at least level 70.
Members in the stocks or on trial cannot invite alts to the guild nor will they be recognised as valid names should a new applicant use them in the "who can recomend you" section of the application.
All applicants will be asked to identify during the application process whether they are applying to raid or as a social member. Raid applicants are generally considered based upon the guilds class requirements as listed on the homepage where as social applications are a lot more relaxed.
SOCIAL MEMBERS & RAID MEMBERS
As a guild we try to balance the social aspect of the game whilst maintaining a steady raid progress. People in the guild as raiders are expected to raid at least two evenings per week but will have this commitment rewarded with regular raid spots and priority on loot drops (when DKP is not used). Social members have no such restrictions and can come and go as they please. They may sign up to any raids they choose to but must accept that raid team members will get raid spots ahead of them. Social members will also be allowed to roll for loot along with Alts, having to pass for raid team members main specs.
See the seperate Raiding rules for further clarification.
GUILD BANK
Access to remove items from the guild bank is restricted to senior members only. However if there is something you need from the bank, all you need to do is ask for it. If you've been promoted above TRIAL rank and it's plain the item is going to be of use and not just sold, then you will most likely get it. (Within reason, of course.)
Everybody has access to put things into the guild bank. The guild bank can easily become overwhelmed with unnecessary items. There is a post on the forums detailing what items we a re currently looking for in the bank and what should and shouldn't be deposited.
As ever, if you're not sure whether to put something in or not, check with a leader who will easily be able to advise.
FORUMS
It is expected that all members read the forums on a regular basis to keep updated on all guild related posts.
There is a lot of useful and important information about the guild posted on the forums and every guild member is expected to stay informed about changes that might affect them.
Claiming ignorance of information readily available on the forums will not ever be considered valid reason for not knowing something.
